LIST OF interviewEES

The current oral history project “Russian Invasion” started in response to russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

The project aims to interview people who witnessed events from the beginning of the russian incursion to the time they fled from Ukraine and stories of their journey to Canada.

The purpose of this oral history project is to collect audio and video testimonies which will chronicle people’s initial reactions, emotions, reasoning for leaving, experiences before and during the process of immigration and first impressions upon arrival in Canada.

The interviews will also delve into questions revolving around resettlement, adaptation to a new language and culture, immigration issues and involvement in the Ukrainian diaspora community as well as plans for the future - remaining in Canada or returning to their homeland.
